Whitney Osuigwe: 15-year old Nigerian-American making waves in International Junior Tennis



Whitney Osuigwe, born on April 17 2002 in Bradenton, Florida, U.S to Desmond Osuigwe, a professional tennis coach originally from Nigeria, is making a name for herself in Junior Tennis.
Only recently, Whitney became the reigning champion of the Junior French Open Tournament after beating fellow American Claire Liu.
Now ranking as the number 1 Junior girls player in the world, according to theInternational Tennis Federation, Whitney Osuigwe is currently on track to win her second major Tennis tournament this year  after advancing to the quarterfinals of the ongoing Wimbledon Championships girls’ singles tournament.
But don’t be deceived; though young (15 years old), Whitney’s wins are by no means the result of an overnight success story.
Whitney’s father, a staff coach at the world renowned IMG Sports Academy, with over 25 years of experience, has had Whitney on the Tennis court since the age of six and over the years Whitney has advanced through the various levels of the academy’s training program. Whitney Osuigwe only successfully turned pro this year.
With persistence and hard work Whitney Osuigwe has become a heavy hitter and is likely to go on making waves. We are seriously rooting for her!

Tuface Thrills Troops In Borno, Dedicates Song To IDPs

Popular musician Innocent Idibia also known as Tuface who is on a tour in Borno where he thrilled the troops and dedicated a song to the IDPs. The African Queen crooner emphasised the need for the peace to rain in the country, especially in the northeast. He commended the Nigerian Army for the gallant fight they are putting in the counter insurgency war. The huge aircraft , dubbed ‘the flying penthouse’ features an entertainment and study lounge, dedicated dining spaces, an en-suite master bedroom with a 42-inch TV, a dressing room and an enormous hotel-style bathroom complete with a shower.  The plane is a remodelled Boeing 787 Dreamliner which is a commercial aircraft that carry between 240 and 335 passengers. Baltimore police officer allegedly plants drugs at scene of a drug arrest not knowing his body cam was recording (video)

A video recording of a Baltimore police officer planting evidence at the scene of a drug arrest, allegedly so he can arrest a suspect, was captured by the officer's body cam without his knowledge. In the video, the officer can be seen planting the drugs in a cup then walking out to of the area go put on his body camera before returning to the same spot to search for the drugs. "I'm going to check here. Hold on," he said for the benefit of the body cam as though he were just going to that spot for the first time. The officer pretended to search around for some time before he brought out the container where he had earlier hidden the drugs and acted like he just found it. Maryland's Office of the Public Defender released the incriminating video. Iran's presidents says his country will 'stand up to' the US

Iran's president says his country will stand up to the United States and reciprocate for any new sanctions that America imposes on the Islamic Republic. Hassan Rouhani says that if Washington, under any pretext, imposes new sanctions against Iran, "we will stand up to the United States." He says the "great nation of Iran will have an appropriate answer" and then adds — without elaborating — that the Iranian parliament will also act. Rouhani's remarks on Wednesday were broadcast on state TV. He spoke a day after the Trump administration announced new, non-nuclear sanctions on Iranians while at the same time warning Iran that it would face consequences for breaching "the spirit" of the nuclear deal with world powers. Tensions High In Jerusalem Over Recent Escalation In Violence

The mood was grim in East Jerusalem on Sunday as Palestinians voiced concern over the deadliest outbreak of violence between Israel and Palestinians for years. On Saturday Israel sent extra troops into the occupied West Bank and its police broke up a crowd of stone-throwing Palestinians in Jerusalem. The Palestinian Health Ministry said one Palestinian was killed during a separate clash outside the city, taking the death toll from the past two days to seven. Three Israelis were stabbed to death on Friday while eating dinner in a West Bank settlement. Mark Corallo  has resigned from his position as spokesman and communications strategist  for President Donald Trump's  legal team. His resignation comes after weeks of tension between the White House and the President's legal team. In recent weeks, Trump has said that his legal team has not done enough to beat back allegations linked to the federal investigations into Russian efforts to influence last year's election.  The legal team has also complained about the President and the White House's response to revelations concerning the Russia probe including the President's refusal to heed their advice not to publicly discuss or tweet about the Russia investigation and with the White House's handling of reports connected to the probe. At the moment, President Trump is reshuffling his legal team as special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation moves ahead with his investigation.

This viral photo shows a Catholic Christian man praying alongside Muslims in the Wadi el-Joz neighbourhood, outside the Old City of Jerusalem. According to CNN, the man identified as Nidal Aboud stood out as one among many. As the men around him bowed, he made the sign of the cross. As they chanted their prayers, he read the Bible to himself. And as they said "Allahu Akbar" -- God is greatest -- he stood silently and respectfully. He was the only Christian among thousands of Muslims at the Friday prayers. The photo has been widely shared on social network sites as a touching example of cooperation in a time of conflict.
