Pakistan Girls Education Activist Malala Yousafzai Visit Acting President Yemi Osinbanjo



Acting President Yemi Osinbajo today received the founder of the Malala Fund and girls’ education activist, Malala Yousafzai at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Malala, the Pakistani school girl who survived an attack by the Taliban, met with the Acting President at the State House in Abuja as part of activities to mark her visit to Nigeria which is the second in three years. She visisted Nigeria for the first time in 2014 shortly after theChibok school girls were abducted by Boko Haram members. 
Leading a delegation of seven including her Dad, Malala who is the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, reiterated her goal to an end to the deprivation of education among the girl child. The meeting with Osinbajo started at about 6pm and was held behind closed doors

New Studies Say Drinking More Coffee Leads To A Longer Life.

According to two newly published studies, greater consumption of coffee could lead to a longer life. One study surveyed more than 520,000 people in 10 European countries, making it the largest study to date on coffee and mortality, and found that drinking more coffee could significantly lower a person's risk of mortality. The second study focused on non-white populations. After surveying over 185,000 African-Americans, Native Americans, Hawaiians, Japanese-Americans, Latinos and whites, the researchers found that coffee increases longevity across various races. Veronica Wendy Setiawan, associate professor of preventative medicine at USC's Keck School of Medicine, who led the study on nonwhite populations said 'people who drank two to four cups a day had an 18% lower risk of death compared with people who did not drink coffee. The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole has informed the general public to beware of fraudulent people who operate fake Facebook account in the name of the state commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni. He said the police boss is not a social media fanatic and he does not have anything to do with the fake accounts in his name on Facebook. Famous-Cole then warned those behind the criminal act to desist or face the full wrath of the law. Hiss tatement reads: 'This is to inform the general public that the Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Fatai Owoseni does not operate a facebook account. It is necessary to inform the public about this, so as to avoid any fraudulent activities through any claim of a Facebook account operated by the Lagos state commissioner of police. A woman was shot dead by a US police officer after she called 911 to report hearing noise outside her house. Justine Damond, 40, an Australian woman due to get married next month, thought the noise might be a possible assault taking place outside her home, so she decided to get the police involved. East African singer, Diamond Platumz's babymama, Zari Hassan has lost her mom Halima Hassan. This is coming barely two months after the death of her ex-husband, Ivan Semwanga. Few weeks ago, Zari announced that her mom was critically ill and asked her fans to pray for her. She died in the early hours of today.
