The huge aircraft , dubbed ‘the flying penthouse’ features an entertainment and study lounge, dedicated dining spaces, an en-suite master bedroom with a 42-inch TV, a dressing room and an enormous hotel-style bathroom complete with a shower.  The plane is a remodelled Boeing 787 Dreamliner which is a commercial aircraft that carry between 240 and 335 passengers. But this one has been transformed into a 40-passenger private jet and is so well-equipped it resembles a flying hotel. The aircraft, which is worth £230 million, is on display at the London airport as part of the launch  of bespoke travel packages by Deer Jet. Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha says Nigeria currently needs repackaging and not restructuring. Some politicians have in recent times called for the restructuring of the country as a lasting solution to the problems and agitations that have lingered over the years.  In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Governor Okorocha made the call at the 67th Annual Conference of the Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria, BON, in Owerri yesterday July 17th. Unpaid Salaries: Benue State Civil Servant And Father Of 3 Resort To Hawking Groundnut To Survive

Mr Godwin Oga, a 46 year old staff of Benue State Environmental Sanitation Agency (BENSESA) has resorted to hawking groundnuts on the streets of Makurdi, the state capital. Speaking to Benue News, the father of three said he started the business last month after he was unable to provide food for his family following governments inability to pay salaries for several months.  “I have so far spent 15 years in service with BENSESA and have also been screened in the ongoing state government screening exercise. “I started this groundnut business earlier in June this year to prevent hunger and starvation of my family and to buy medications” He explained.  Mr Oga added that despite being a laughing stock, he preferred the business to stealing, urging other civil servants in the same situation as his, to also seek alternative means of survival.  The state government owes upwards of five months unpaid salaries to state governments workers and eight months for local ...

Flood took over Suleja in Niger State following a heavy downpour that started in the early hours on Sunday. About 10 residents are missing and feared dead as residents told Channels Television that some who had attempted to leave their submerged homes for safety were swept away by the flood. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, said that the plot to Islamise Nigeria is real but would be resisted. Kanu said that no part of Nigeria within Biafra territory will be islamised in his life time. The IPOB leader said this while addressing a huge crowd of Biafra activists when he visited Nri, the ancestral home of Ndigbo. At Nri, Kanu, who was accompanied by his wife, visited the historic “Ohianwehi” revered as “forest of life” by Igbo tradition. It is believed that it was where the first burnt offering was scarified by the Jewish Igbo ancestors when they migrated from Israel about 300 years ago.
