Photos: Attack by suspected Badoo member averted in Ikorodu



An attack by a suspected member of the notorious cult group, Badoo, was averted on Eyita Diasi Okeowo Street in Ikorodu, Lagos state last Friday. A Facebook page dedicated to people residing in Ikorodu, Ikorodu Ambassadors, shared the recent development this morning. The post reads;
We are so sorry that this is coming a bit late. Now this is Not to create Panic or Fear.
Rather, it's an Awareness that we need not Deter from our Vigilance, we need to be Security Conscious and be Watchful. A Reliable Source sent this to us:
"Glory be to God for saving us in our area from the attack of BADOO GANG yesterday, 14th of July 2017. These pictures of cloth and mortar you see here was found where a Suspected Badoo Gang Member sat and hid himself in an uncompleted building. At about 10:30pm, When PHCN took the power, my neighbour decided to check and search around his house, that was how he saw the suspected Badoo Gang Member in an uncompleted building beside his apartment without wearing any cloth. Immediately he saw my neighbour, he ran away. Then my neighbour raised an alarm and call for help, people gathered and started chasing him, the badoo suspect jumped over nine fence but men in the neighborhood surrounded the area to search for him, fortunately he was caught and was handed over to the police. This incident happened in Eyita, Diasi Okeowo Street, Ikorodu incase you'd like to confirm".

Nigeria Needs Repackaging Not Restructuring - Governor Rochas Okorocha

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha says Nigeria currently needs repackaging and not restructuring. Some politicians have in recent times called for the restructuring of the country as a lasting solution to the problems and agitations that have lingered over the years.  In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Governor Okorocha made the call at the 67th Annual Conference of the Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria, BON, in Owerri yesterday July 17th. WAEC Releases Results For 2017 May/June WASSCE

There was improvement in the performance of Nigerian candidates after the West African Examination Council (WAEC) on Monday released the results for the 2017 May/June West African Senior School Examinations (WASSCE). A breakdown of the result as announced by the council’s Head of National Office, Monday, Mr Olu Adenipekun, showed that 923,486 candidates representing 59.22 per cent obtained a minimum of credits in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics. He observed that 59.22%, percent performance of candidates that obtained five (5) credits and above including English Language and Mathematics in the WASSCE for School Candidates represents an improvement to the result in 2015 and 2016 which was 38.68% and 52.97%, respectively. The percentage of candidates who attained this feat in 2014, 2015 and 2016 diets were 31.28 per cent, 38.68 per cent and 52.97 per cent respectively. Regulators are in uncharted territory trying to regulate illegal cryptocurrency public coin offerings, US officials told Congress today. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman John Clayton had harsh words for those dodging SEC regulations today at a Senate banking committee hearing: “Many ICOs [initial coin offerings] are being conducted illegally. Unpaid Salaries: Benue State Civil Servant And Father Of 3 Resort To Hawking Groundnut To Survive

Mr Godwin Oga, a 46 year old staff of Benue State Environmental Sanitation Agency (BENSESA) has resorted to hawking groundnuts on the streets of Makurdi, the state capital. Speaking to Benue News, the father of three said he started the business last month after he was unable to provide food for his family following governments inability to pay salaries for several months.  “I have so far spent 15 years in service with BENSESA and have also been screened in the ongoing state government screening exercise. “I started this groundnut business earlier in June this year to prevent hunger and starvation of my family and to buy medications” He explained.  Mr Oga added that despite being a laughing stock, he preferred the business to stealing, urging other civil servants in the same situation as his, to also seek alternative means of survival.  The state government owes upwards of five months unpaid salaries to state governments workers and eight months for local ...
