Chelsea, Real Madrid in advanced negotiations for Morata



Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata, is close to completing a €80million move to Chelsea.

Spanish publication, Marca, reports that both clubs are in “advanced negotiations” over the player’s transfer.

Morata had previously been a target for Manchester United, but the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, saw him travel with Madrid for pre-season training in the US.

Although AC Milan have also shown an interest, the 24-year-old now appears poised to join the Premier League champions.

It is believed the deal will be wrapped up by next week, to end manager Antonio Conte’s search for a top-class striker.

Victoria Beckham has been called out by the design director at Land Rover after she claimed she designed a special edition of the Range Rover for her husband David Beckham. At the launch of a special VB Evoque, the former Spice Girl claimed: "I’ve designed a car that I want to drive, a car I think David wants to drive." Eddie and his family died on Sunday at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State, following severe burns sustained from the incident. However Briefing newsmen in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, the chairman of SWAN, Mr. Chukwuemeka Opara, said Eddie died as a result of gas explosion which occurred in their compound in Ikom, Cross River State, three weeks ago. The incident reportedly affected his entire household, including his neighbour in whose flat the explosion happened. APC Sweeps Lagos LG Polls

The All Progressives Congress has reportedly won the council election held in all the 20 Local Government Areas and the 37 Local Council Development Areas on Saturday. Early results released by the Lagos Television showed that the APC took several LGAs and LCDAs including Ojokoro, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Badagry Central, Onigbongbo, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye, Ikorodu West, Ejigbo, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Lagos Island East, Badagry West, Surulere, Ikorodu Central, Ikoyi/Obalende, Agboyi-Ketu, Eredo and others. Some of the results from the LGs and LCDAs showed the ruling party winning. In Lagos Island LG, APC won with 14,692 votes while PDP got 925 votes, with the Labour Party taking third place with 1211 votes. APC also won in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA with 7112 votes, PDP got 756 votes while LP got 542 votes. In Eredo LCDA, APC received 10910 votes while PDP got 737 votes. Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has stated the country is already out of recession “to an extent.” She said this while speaking on African Independent Television (AIT). “We are out, we’re out to an extent and we hope that the figures will reflect the fact that we’re out.
