Today Monday July 17th at the State house Abuja,His Excellency Festus Mogae, former President of Botswana presented to the acting President Osinbajo a National Workshop Report Titled "Preventing Violent Extremism in Nigeria: Effective Narratives and Messaging" (#telladifferentstory) during a courtesy visit by members of The World Leadership Alliance Club de Madrid, also in the photograph is His Excellency Cassam Uteem, former President of Mauritius.

Tensions High In Jerusalem Over Recent Escalation In Violence

The mood was grim in East Jerusalem on Sunday as Palestinians voiced concern over the deadliest outbreak of violence between Israel and Palestinians for years. On Saturday Israel sent extra troops into the occupied West Bank and its police broke up a crowd of stone-throwing Palestinians in Jerusalem. The Palestinian Health Ministry said one Palestinian was killed during a separate clash outside the city, taking the death toll from the past two days to seven. Three Israelis were stabbed to death on Friday while eating dinner in a West Bank settlement. Hours earlier, three Palestinians were killed in violence prompted by Israel’s installation of metal detectors at entry points to the Noble Sanctuary-Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem’s walled Old City. Mark Corallo  has resigned from his position as spokesman and communications strategist  for President Donald Trump's  legal team. His resignation comes after weeks of tension between the White House and the President's legal team. In recent weeks, Trump has said that his legal team has not done enough to beat back allegations linked to the federal investigations into Russian efforts to influence last year's election.  The legal team has also complained about the President and the White House's response to revelations concerning the Russia probe including the President's refusal to heed their advice not to publicly discuss or tweet about the Russia investigation and with the White House's handling of reports connected to the probe. At the moment, President Trump is reshuffling his legal team as special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation moves ahead with his investigation.

This viral photo shows a Catholic Christian man praying alongside Muslims in the Wadi el-Joz neighbourhood, outside the Old City of Jerusalem. According to CNN, the man identified as Nidal Aboud stood out as one among many. As the men around him bowed, he made the sign of the cross. As they chanted their prayers, he read the Bible to himself. And as they said "Allahu Akbar" -- God is greatest -- he stood silently and respectfully. He was the only Christian among thousands of Muslims at the Friday prayers. The photo has been widely shared on social network sites as a touching example of cooperation in a time of conflict. Nigerians should expect new data price soon – NCC

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said Nigerians should expect a new data price as soon as an on-going cost-based research is concluded. This was disclosed in Abuja by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Dambatta during a chat with DAILY POST. According to him, the commission had noticed that the level of data usage was growing across the country and there was need for an affordable and acceptable price floor for data. He said this was necessary in order to forestall a price war in the data sub-segment of the telecommunications industry. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has directed Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Maiduguri, to capture Abubakar Shekau, self-styled leader of the Boko Haram sect, “dead or alive” Buratai further directed the Theatre commander to do so within 40 days. A former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has called out the Nigerian Senate for directing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to supply dollars at a subsidised exchange rate of N200 to intending pilgrims. In a series of tweets on her verified Tweeter handle on Saturday morning, @obyezeks, the Bring Back our Girls (BBOG) co-Convener, lashed out at the lawmakers describing them as “feeling entitled to an indulgent life”. The Senate had in its bid to bring down the cost of pilgrimage recommended the concession of N200 to $1 by the CBN to intending pilgrims, despite the CBN’s benchmark of N305 to $1 for the 2017 Hajj operations. While stating that religious pilgrimage is desirable, Ezekwesili, however, noted that such venture should not be subsidised because it is a luxury consumption in a country like Nigeria where 50 per cent are in poverty bracket.
