BREAKING: Budget: Osinbajo proposes N135.6bn virement



Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has submitted a virement proposal of N135.6 billion to the National Assembly.

The money, if approved, it was gathered, will cover projects across many MDAs, particularly the Ministry of Power/Works/Housing.

John Heard, Home Alone Actor Dies At 72

Heard was found dead in a hotel by the maid service ... according to family sources. Police were called to the hotel for a report of a medical emergency, but he was pronounced dead on the scene. The coroner is investigating, and cause of death is unclear at this time ... but police do not suspect foul play. We do know this ... according to his rep, John had "minor back surgery" Wednesday at Stanford Medical Center, and he was staying at the hotel while he recovered. Heard's most iconic role was as Peter McCallister, the dad in the "Home Alone" movies. He also had roles in "Big," "Beaches," "Gladiator" and "Pelican Brief" -- to name just a few -- and also a slew of TV roles on "Miami Vice," "The Sopranos" ... and even the first "Sharknado." John was 71.

The surreal video became so popular that it  "broke" YouTube's play counter , exceeding the maximum possible number of views (2,147,483,647), and forcing the company to  rewrite its code . But the song has now been overtaken by another music video - Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's  See You Again . The heart-wrenching ballad has now been streamed 2,895,373,709 times; beating Psy's current count of 2,894,426,475 views. Adding it up, that means See You Again has been streamed for a total of 21,759 years. An inspiring report by Metro UK, has shown how Peggy Styles, an old woman, completed an EdD (the educational equivalent of a PhD) in counselling this year, graduating today from the University of Bristol. She began studying for her doctorate at 78 years old, and it’s taken her eight years to complete her studies. Now, at 86, Peggy is the oldest student to have ever graduated from the University of Bristol. The road to her EdD wasn’t easy. Born in England to Belgian parents in 1931, Peggy moved back to Belgium when she was six, returning to England as a refugee in 1940. The changes and language difficulties meant Peggy struggled to learn, and she left school at 15 years old with only a qualification in shorthand typing. She eventually got married, and after her husband left the army to get a job managing a factory, Peggy volunteered to help set up a refuge for abused women. A WAEC candidate from Enugu State, Ali Cynthia Chineche has made 9 A1 in all 9 subjects she sat for in the just released West African Senior School Certificate Examiniation, WASSCE. Last year, a similar result was recorded when a candidate from Kaduna State came out with A1 in all registered subject in the Exam. The results released by WAEC earlier in the week saw the Enugu student making an express A1 in all her nine subjects. Sharing the news, Cynthia’s teacher, Chibulu Austin wrote on Facebook, “Last year was someone from Kaduna state with nine A1’s. “Today we have produced, and I am very much proud teaching this lovely and wonderful lady in a great citadel of learning. “Let the result talk for itself. Police speaks on Apapa mayhem, arrests cop who killed tanker driver

Lagos State Police Command has arrested the policeman, who allegedly shot a tanker driver dead along Burma Road, Apapa. The command said 18 suspected hoodlums who allegedly caused mayhem in the area following the killing have also been apprehended. TRAGEDY: 14 people burnt to death as tanker collides with commercial bus

FILE PHOTO: FRSC officials at a scene of an accident No fewer than 14 persons have been reported dead in a ghastly tanker and bus collision in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Sunday. Witnesses say the dead, who were consumed in the inferno, include women and children. The accident was said to have occurred at about 12 noon in front of a fuel station, few metres away from the popular Mayfair roundabout. An 18-seater commercial bus heading from Ondo State to Ibadan collided with a diesel-filled tanker that was negotiating a U-turn on the way, witnesses said. It was learnt that on collision, the bus burst into flames, burning most of the passengers beyond recognition. Witnesses told journalists that the extent of damage resulted from the delayed arrival of rescue teams to the accident spot.
