Details of Morata’s transfer to Chelsea revealed



More details have emerged, after Chelsea confirmed on Wednesday, that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata.

The Premier League champions will pay an initial fee of £58million for the 24-year-old striker, who is set to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

It is almost £20m less than the initial £75m Manchester United paid for Romelu Lukaku, who had been Chelsea’s top target.

The £58m will still eclipse Chelsea’s previous record spend of £50m on Fernando Torres in 2011. It is believed the add-ons could see the final fee rise towards £70m.

Morata is currently in the US on a pre-season tour with Madrid, but will now leave to complete the deal.

Jim Vance, one of the first black major news anchors and Washington DC's longest serving local TV host has died at the age of 75 following a long battle with cancer. Station president and general manager, Jackie Bradford in a statement said, 'Jim Vance was not only the soul of NBC4 but of the entire Washington area. His smooth voice, brilliant mind and unforgettable laugh leaves each of us with a tremendous void'. The Nigerian government has stated that no one would be left out in the campaign to enlarge the tax revenue. Startup Raises $20 Million to Build 'YouTube on the Blockchain'

Silicon Valley startup Lino is preparing to take on YouTube with a decentralized, collectively-owned video content distribution system that purports to cut out the middleman to more fairly compensate content creators. The company, which faces competition from Streamspace, Flixxo, Viuly and Stream, all of which are developing similar concepts, received a $20 million vote of confidence from prominent Chinese seed investor Zhenfund during a private token sale, it   announced   today. Minister of Information and Culture, Lia Mohammed, has shed more light on plans by the Federal government to stop entertainers and movie makers from shooting their jobs outside the shores of Nigeria. Lagos builds road to connect Ikorodu with Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The Lagos state government says it has started the construction of the road project that would link the Agric area of Ikorodu to Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Akinwunmi Ambode, the state governor, said this on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting on the road. He said it would cut through the Arepo area of Ogun state, PUNCH reports. Represented by Rotimi Ogunleye, the state commissioner for commerce, industries and cooperatives, the governor said the state has also approved the reconstruction of Igbe/Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu network of roads. He added that the road would be a dual carriageway and would also serve as another link to Sagamu. “The Agric-Isawo-Konu-Arepo Road will have a link bridge that will connect the state to the Ogun State boundary, which will link the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,” Ambode said. Japanese Airline Confirms Future BTC Payment Option In The Works

Peach Aviation, a low-cost airline in Japan, has confirmed that their plan to allow   Bitcoin (BTC)   as payment is only delayed, not cancelled. Peach Aviation had   initially announced in May 2017   that customers would be able to use Bitcoin as a payment method by the end of the year. However, in December 2017, the plan was postponed until March 2018. The airline had   partnered with crypto exchange BITpoint Japan   for the new BTC payment system as well as for plans to open Bitcoin ATMs at airports around Japan. Japan has   recognized Bitcoin as a legal payment   method in the country since April 2017.
