NYSC releases call-up letter for 2017 batch A, stream 2



The management of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has released call-up letters for 2017 Batch A stream II.

Prospective corps members have been advised to print out call-up letter to know their state of deployment.

This was contained in a statement by the scheme on their twitter page @NYSCHQNG on Wednesday evening.

The statement reads: The “Judgement Day” has come.

“All things being equal, you should be able to view your state of posting by 6PM today.

“ Let the countdown begin!

The orientation camp is set to commence on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017.

A statement by the management of the scheme said, prospective corps members slated for the orientation course are advised to proceed to their respective camps as stated on their Call-up Letters.

The statement stated that foreign-trained graduates are to report to the camps with their travelling passport for identification, as well as their transcripts for verification.

It said the official closing ceremony has been slated for Tuesday, 15th August, 2017.

Baltimore police officer allegedly plants drugs at scene of a drug arrest not knowing his body cam was recording (video)

A video recording of a Baltimore police officer planting evidence at the scene of a drug arrest, allegedly so he can arrest a suspect, was captured by the officer's body cam without his knowledge. In the video, the officer can be seen planting the drugs in a cup then walking out to of the area go put on his body camera before returning to the same spot to search for the drugs. "I'm going to check here. Hold on," he said for the benefit of the body cam as though he were just going to that spot for the first time. The officer pretended to search around for some time before he brought out the container where he had earlier hidden the drugs and acted like he just found it. N-Power withholds volunteers’ payments, reveals their names [Full list]

N-Power on Saturday published names of volunteers whose payments have been put on hold because they have not been to their Place of Primary Assignments, PPAs. ​This warning was posted on its twitter handle, @npower_ng. Startup Raises $20 Million to Build 'YouTube on the Blockchain'

Silicon Valley startup Lino is preparing to take on YouTube with a decentralized, collectively-owned video content distribution system that purports to cut out the middleman to more fairly compensate content creators. Nigerians should expect new data price soon – NCC

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said Nigerians should expect a new data price as soon as an on-going cost-based research is concluded. This was disclosed in Abuja by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Dambatta during a chat with DAILY POST. According to him, the commission had noticed that the level of data usage was growing across the country and there was need for an affordable and acceptable price floor for data. He said this was necessary in order to forestall a price war in the data sub-segment of the telecommunications industry. Japanese Airline Confirms Future BTC Payment Option In The Works

Peach Aviation, a low-cost airline in Japan, has confirmed that their plan to allow   Bitcoin (BTC)   as payment is only delayed, not cancelled. Peach Aviation had   initially announced in May 2017   that customers would be able to use Bitcoin as a payment method by the end of the year. However, in December 2017, the plan was postponed until March 2018. The airline had   partnered with crypto exchange BITpoint Japan   for the new BTC payment system as well as for plans to open Bitcoin ATMs at airports around Japan. Japan has   recognized Bitcoin as a legal payment   method in the country since April 2017.
