FG seeks more input into civil service reforms

The Federal Government is receiving more inputs from civil societies and other stakeholders to strengthen the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms (NSPSR). This was disclosed yesterday in Abuja by the Director-General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR) Dr Joe Abah at the Revalidation Session of the NSPSR.

He said the reforms was first articulated and completed in 2009 as a coordinating mechanism for integrated reforms but articulated recent issues like the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and improvement in the budgeting system.

According to him, although key aspects of the strategy have been implemented, it has never formally been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF) Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita who is the Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee on the reforms, said it was aimed at developing and deepening the capacity of government to consistently translate national strategic intents into action.
