Check Out Japan Crying Baby Contest. See Photos



Different people, Different Cultures! So there is a Crying Baby Contest (Naki Sumo) that holds in Japan every year. This year, the competition held at the Shinto shrine in Yokohama, near Tokyo on Monday July 17th.
The contest pairs up little toddlers with sumo wrestlers who will attempt to get the babies to cry. The toddler who cries the longest and loudest is crowned the winner.
As bizarre as it may be, the crying baby contest has been practised by Japenese indigenes for well over 400 years. Japanese parents voluntarily bring their babies to the contest, and truly believe that sumo-induced crying keeps their children in good health.

The management of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has released call-up letters for 2017 Batch A stream II. Prospective corps members have been advised to print out call-up letter to know their state of deployment. This was contained in a statement by the scheme on their twitter page @NYSCHQNG on Wednesday evening. The statement reads: The “Judgement Day” has come. “All things being equal, you should be able to view your state of posting by 6PM today. “ Let the countdown begin! The orientation camp is set to commence on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017. A statement by the management of the scheme said, prospective corps members slated for the orientation course are advised to proceed to their respective camps as stated on their Call-up Letters. APC Sweeps Lagos LG Polls

The All Progressives Congress has reportedly won the council election held in all the 20 Local Government Areas and the 37 Local Council Development Areas on Saturday. Early results released by the Lagos Television showed that the APC took several LGAs and LCDAs including Ojokoro, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Badagry Central, Onigbongbo, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye, Ikorodu West, Ejigbo, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Lagos Island East, Badagry West, Surulere, Ikorodu Central, Ikoyi/Obalende, Agboyi-Ketu, Eredo and others. Some of the results from the LGs and LCDAs showed the ruling party winning. In Lagos Island LG, APC won with 14,692 votes while PDP got 925 votes, with the Labour Party taking third place with 1211 votes. APC also won in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA with 7112 votes, PDP got 756 votes while LP got 542 votes. In Eredo LCDA, APC received 10910 votes while PDP got 737 votes.
