Check Out Japan Crying Baby Contest. See Photos



Different people, Different Cultures! So there is a Crying Baby Contest (Naki Sumo) that holds in Japan every year. This year, the competition held at the Shinto shrine in Yokohama, near Tokyo on Monday July 17th.
The contest pairs up little toddlers with sumo wrestlers who will attempt to get the babies to cry. The toddler who cries the longest and loudest is crowned the winner.
As bizarre as it may be, the crying baby contest has been practised by Japenese indigenes for well over 400 years. Japanese parents voluntarily bring their babies to the contest, and truly believe that sumo-induced crying keeps their children in good health.

A woman was shot dead by a US police officer after she called 911 to report hearing noise outside her house. Justine Damond, 40, an Australian woman due to get married next month, thought the noise might be a possible assault taking place outside her home, so she decided to get the police involved. When police arrived outside the home she shared with her fiance, Don Damond, at 5100 block of Washburn Avenue South, in Minneapolis' upscale Fulton neighbourhood, it was claimed that she went outside in her pyjamas and got shot through the door of a squad car by an officer seated inside the vehicle. Nigeria: 37 Feared Killed in Fresh Southern Kaduna Crisis

At least 37 people are feared killed and many others seriously injured in fresh crisis that broke out in Kajuru Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna. The latest trouble was said to have started since Sunday when some Fulani youths allegedly went to a village at Ugwan Uka to avenge the killing of their kinsman. Kajuru Local Government is about 50 kilometres from the state capital, Kaduna. The fresh killings show that the efforts by the government at the state and federal levels to check violence have not been effective. The umbrella body of Fulani, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria on Saturday alleged that four of its members were killed by youths from the troubled Southern Kaduna.
