N-Power withholds volunteers’ payments, reveals their names [Full list]



N-Power on Saturday published names of volunteers whose payments have been put on hold because they have not been to their Place of Primary Assignments, PPAs.

​This warning was posted on its twitter handle, @npower_ng.

Recall that N-Power had warned volunteers and applicants likewise to stop seeing the programme as an avenue to make free money.

“For those who have a job and use N-Power as a secondary source of income, proceed with caution.”

“N-Power has a whistle blowing policy. Details on this coming soon”.

Meanwhile, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has extended registration for 2017 N-Power application by two weeks.

Osinbajo announced this on Friday, when he visited the N-Power Call Center in Abuja, where some youths were given tablets to facilitate their jobs.

The application portal will now close on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

​The N-portal reopened for registration on Tuesday​ June 13, 2017​.

The N-Power Volunteer Corps is part of the Federal government’s Social Investment Programmes, under which it plans to hire 350,000 unemployed graduates.

Startup Raises $20 Million to Build 'YouTube on the Blockchain'

Silicon Valley startup Lino is preparing to take on YouTube with a decentralized, collectively-owned video content distribution system that purports to cut out the middleman to more fairly compensate content creators. The company, which faces competition from Streamspace, Flixxo, Viuly and Stream, all of which are developing similar concepts, received a $20 million vote of confidence from prominent Chinese seed investor Zhenfund during a private token sale, it   announced   today. Explaining the company's mission, its website says that YouTube holds "enormous power" over creators and focuses on maximizing profit, which can bring it into conflict with its actual creators. A woman was shot dead by a US police officer after she called 911 to report hearing noise outside her house. Justine Damond, 40, an Australian woman due to get married next month, thought the noise might be a possible assault taking place outside her home, so she decided to get the police involved. When police arrived outside the home she shared with her fiance, Don Damond, at 5100 block of Washburn Avenue South, in Minneapolis' upscale Fulton neighbourhood, it was claimed that she went outside in her pyjamas and got shot through the door of a squad car by an officer seated inside the vehicle. Veteran news anchor, Jim Vance dies at 75 after long battle with cancer

Jim Vance, one of the first black major news anchors and Washington DC's longest serving local TV host has died at the age of 75 following a long battle with cancer. Station president and general manager, Jackie Bradford in a statement said, 'Jim Vance was not only the soul of NBC4 but of the entire Washington area. His smooth voice, brilliant mind and unforgettable laugh leaves each of us with a tremendous void'. Vance, who won more than a dozen Emmys, was one of the first African-American news anchors to host a show in a major news market in 1972. He became one of former president George H.W. "Don't let people kiss your baby" mother warns after newborn baby girl dies days after someone with herpes kissed her

An 18-day-old baby has died after she contracted a life-threatening herpes infection through a kiss. Baby Mariana was born healthy on July 1, however, on July 7, which was her parents' wedding day, she became ill and had to be rushed to the hospital where doctors tried unsuccessfully to save her life. Iowa couple, Shane and Nicole Sifrit had to cut their wedding reception short to take their 6-day-old daughter to the Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. At the hospital, doctors said the child had become infected with meningitis HSV-1, which is caused by the herpes virus.
