CHELSEA TO OFFER €80M FOR MORATA

Chelsea are ready to offer €80 million for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, according to AS .
Morata had seemingly been on course to join Manchester United, with Chelsea having been favourites to sign Lukaku, but the situation has now been turned on its head.
With Lukaku on the brink of finalising a move to United, Premier League champions Chelsea will try to sign Morata on either a four or five-year contract.

The Spaniard who scored 20 goals last season is unhappy at Madrid where his first team opportunities are limited and will consider making the switch to Chelsea where he will be tasked with leading the line.

FG Says Beggars in Nigeria will start paying tax

The Nigerian government has stated that no one would be left out in the campaign to enlarge the tax revenue. According to dailypost,She said some beggars were earning millions and that “proceeds from begging are taxable. You are supposed to pay taxes even if your means of income is begging”. Man kidnaps himself and demands N60million from siblings

The Lagos state police command have arrested one Ufom Udoh for allegedly staging his kidnap in order to defraud his siblings of N60 million. According to the state police command's spokesperson, Olarinde Famous-Cole, Udoh had left his home on July 3rd and connived with his friend, Paul Okiemute, to defraud his brother, Victor Udoh and his other siblings of N60 million by way of staging his own kidnap. Victor had on July 3rd reported a case of a kidnapped person in Lagos state to the police. The case was then transferred to the state's anti-kidnapping unit, who during its investigation, traced all calls the complainant got on his phone. This led to the arrest of one Paul Okiemute. When arrested, Okiemute, confessed that Udoh staged his own kidnap to collect money from his elder brother due to his financial problems.  “Udoh was not kidnapped. It was all planned. Good news for  Chelsea  fans!  Antonio Conte  has just signed a two-year contract extension with us that'll see him stay at Stamford Bridge till 2021. Speaking to Chelsea FC's official website about his new contract, Conte said: "'I  am very happy to have signed a new contract with Chelsea. We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top. Jim Vance, one of the first black major news anchors and Washington DC's longest serving local TV host has died at the age of 75 following a long battle with cancer. Station president and general manager, Jackie Bradford in a statement said, 'Jim Vance was not only the soul of NBC4 but of the entire Washington area. His smooth voice, brilliant mind and unforgettable laugh leaves each of us with a tremendous void'. Vance, who won more than a dozen Emmys, was one of the first African-American news anchors to host a show in a major news market in 1972. He became one of former president George H.W. Bush's fishing buddies and a confidante to the city's former mayor, Marion Barry, who died in 2014.

Google Play Protect is now rolling out to all eligible Android devices, the Alphabet-owned Internet giant confirmed in a statement provided to Engadget. The latest anti-malware solution is being distributed to smartphones and tablets running Google Mobile Services (GMS) 11 and later versions of the API collection, the company said. The Mountain View, California-based firm is currently focused on rolling out the main Google Play Protect system service that’s integrated into the Settings app on your device, where you’ll find it located under the “Security” section of the “Google” menu. TRAGEDY: 14 people burnt to death as tanker collides with commercial bus

Witnesses say the dead, who were consumed in the inferno, include women and children. The accident was said to have occurred at about 12 noon in front of a fuel station, few metres away from the popular Mayfair roundabout. An 18-seater commercial bus heading from Ondo State to Ibadan collided with a diesel-filled tanker that was negotiating a U-turn on the way, witnesses said. It was learnt that on collision, the bus burst into flames, burning most of the passengers beyond recognition. Witnesses told journalists that the extent of damage resulted from the delayed arrival of rescue teams to the accident spot. Nigeria's 2017 budget, signed into law by the acting president a month ago, has still not been finalised and is being amended due to disagreements between parliament and the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter said. Any delays to government spending could hobble recovery in Africa's largest economy, now in its second year of recession. The 2017 budget, still not finalised in the second half of the year, was meant to spark that return to growth after the first downturn in a quarter of a century. The presidency and senior lawmakers had also promised that it would avoid the severe delays in passing the previous year's budget, which was signed off in May 2016 -- five months into the budget year. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo signed Nigeria's 2107 budget into law last month.
