CHELSEA TO OFFER €80M FOR MORATA

Chelsea are ready to offer €80 million for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, according to AS .
Morata had seemingly been on course to join Manchester United, with Chelsea having been favourites to sign Lukaku, but the situation has now been turned on its head.
With Lukaku on the brink of finalising a move to United, Premier League champions Chelsea will try to sign Morata on either a four or five-year contract.

The Spaniard who scored 20 goals last season is unhappy at Madrid where his first team opportunities are limited and will consider making the switch to Chelsea where he will be tasked with leading the line.

Nigerians should expect new data price soon – NCC

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said Nigerians should expect a new data price as soon as an on-going cost-based research is concluded. This was disclosed in Abuja by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Dambatta during a chat with DAILY POST. According to him, the commission had noticed that the level of data usage was growing across the country and there was need for an affordable and acceptable price floor for data. He said this was necessary in order to forestall a price war in the data sub-segment of the telecommunications industry. Dambatta disclosed that the commission was looking at other temporary measures in other to ensure that data services improved. He said: “We have noticed that the level of data usage is growing. The Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, Sani Aliyu, said with the feat, the country has crossed the “tipping point” for the epidemic. Ambode casting his vote on Saturday The All Progressive Congress (APC) has won both the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in Ward A6 polling Unit 033 located in Ogunmodede College, Papa Epe where the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode voted on Saturday morning. At the end of counting of the votes cast, the results showed that the APC polled a total of 299 votes for the Chairmanship election as against one polled by the Labour Party and zero vote polled respectively by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party. For the Councillorship election in the unit, the APC polled a total of 293 votes as against one polled by Labour Party and zero polled by PDP. In the second polling unit in the ward, APC polled 298 votes for the Chairmanship election as against zero vote polled by the PDP and Labour. A renown Yoruba veteran actor, broadcaster, poet and writer, Chief Adebayo Faleti has passed away. Adebayo, an old student of Ibadan Boys High School died Sunday morning at University College Hospital, Ibadan at about 6. am according to sources. Chief Adebayo who happened to be one of the pioneer staff of the first television station in Africa, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV) died at the age of 86. He was responsible for translating Nigeria’s National Anthem from English to Yoruba. He also translated speeches being made by military president of Nigeria Ibrahim Babangida and Chief Ernest Shonekan, Head of National Interim Government of Nigeria, from English to Yoruba.
