John Heard, Home Alone Actor Dies At 72



Heard was found dead in a hotel by the maid service ... according to family sources. Police were called to the hotel for a report of a medical emergency, but he was pronounced dead on the scene. The coroner is investigating, and cause of death is unclear at this time ... but police do not suspect foul play.

We do know this ... according to his rep, John had "minor back surgery" Wednesday at Stanford Medical Center, and he was staying at the hotel while he recovered.

Heard's most iconic role was as Peter McCallister, the dad in the "Home Alone" movies.

He also had roles in "Big," "Beaches," "Gladiator" and "Pelican Brief" -- to name just a few -- and also a slew of TV roles on "Miami Vice," "The Sopranos" ... and even the first "Sharknado."

John was 71.

CHELSEA TO OFFER €80M FOR MORATA

Chelsea are ready to offer €80 million for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, according to AS . Morata had seemingly been on course to join Manchester United, with Chelsea having been favourites to sign Lukaku, but the situation has now been turned on its head. With Lukaku on the brink of finalising a move to United, Premier League champions Chelsea will try to sign Morata on either a four or five-year contract. Man kidnaps himself and demands N60million from siblings

The Lagos state police command have arrested one Ufom Udoh for allegedly staging his kidnap in order to defraud his siblings of N60 million. According to the state police command's spokesperson, Olarinde Famous-Cole, Udoh had left his home on July 3rd and connived with his friend, Paul Okiemute, to defraud his brother, Victor Udoh and his other siblings of N60 million by way of staging his own kidnap. Victor had on July 3rd reported a case of a kidnapped person in Lagos state to the police. The case was then transferred to the state's anti-kidnapping unit, who during its investigation, traced all calls the complainant got on his phone. This led to the arrest of one Paul Okiemute. When arrested, Okiemute, confessed that Udoh staged his own kidnap to collect money from his elder brother due to his financial problems.  “Udoh was not kidnapped. It was all planned. Japanese Airline Confirms Future BTC Payment Option In The Works

Peach Aviation, a low-cost airline in Japan, has confirmed that their plan to allow   Bitcoin (BTC)   as payment is only delayed, not cancelled. Peach Aviation had   initially announced in May 2017   that customers would be able to use Bitcoin as a payment method by the end of the year. However, in December 2017, the plan was postponed until March 2018. The airline had   partnered with crypto exchange BITpoint Japan   for the new BTC payment system as well as for plans to open Bitcoin ATMs at airports around Japan. Japan has   recognized Bitcoin as a legal payment   method in the country since April 2017. Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi on Friday stated that he has no powers to increase salaries of local government workers. Threatening to sack any civil servant that indulges in politics ahead of the 2019 elections, he also said 13th-month salary will no longer be paid. Umahi spoke at a meeting with members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ebonyi state chapter and other affiliated unions at the Government House.
