Pakistan Girls Education Activist Malala Yousafzai Visit Acting President Yemi Osinbanjo



Acting President Yemi Osinbajo today received the founder of the Malala Fund and girls’ education activist, Malala Yousafzai at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Malala, the Pakistani school girl who survived an attack by the Taliban, met with the Acting President at the State House in Abuja as part of activities to mark her visit to Nigeria which is the second in three years. She visisted Nigeria for the first time in 2014 shortly after theChibok school girls were abducted by Boko Haram members. 
Leading a delegation of seven including her Dad, Malala who is the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, reiterated her goal to an end to the deprivation of education among the girl child. The meeting with Osinbajo started at about 6pm and was held behind closed doors

Police speaks on Apapa mayhem, arrests cop who killed tanker driver

Lagos State Police Command has arrested the policeman, who allegedly shot a tanker driver dead along Burma Road, Apapa. The command said 18 suspected hoodlums who allegedly caused mayhem in the area following the killing have also been apprehended. Nigerians should expect new data price soon – NCC

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said Nigerians should expect a new data price as soon as an on-going cost-based research is concluded. This was disclosed in Abuja by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Dambatta during a chat with DAILY POST. According to him, the commission had noticed that the level of data usage was growing across the country and there was need for an affordable and acceptable price floor for data. He said this was necessary in order to forestall a price war in the data sub-segment of the telecommunications industry. Dambatta disclosed that the commission was looking at other temporary measures in other to ensure that data services improved. He said: “We have noticed that the level of data usage is growing. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, said that the plot to Islamise Nigeria is real but would be resisted. Kanu said that no part of Nigeria within Biafra territory will be islamised in his life time. The IPOB leader said this while addressing a huge crowd of Biafra activists when he visited Nri, the ancestral home of Ndigbo. At Nri, Kanu, who was accompanied by his wife, visited the historic “Ohianwehi” revered as “forest of life” by Igbo tradition. Baltimore police officer allegedly plants drugs at scene of a drug arrest not knowing his body cam was recording (video)

A video recording of a Baltimore police officer planting evidence at the scene of a drug arrest, allegedly so he can arrest a suspect, was captured by the officer's body cam without his knowledge. In the video, the officer can be seen planting the drugs in a cup then walking out to of the area go put on his body camera before returning to the same spot to search for the drugs. "I'm going to check here. Hold on," he said for the benefit of the body cam as though he were just going to that spot for the first time. The officer pretended to search around for some time before he brought out the container where he had earlier hidden the drugs and acted like he just found it. Maryland's Office of the Public Defender released the incriminating video. Roger Federer climbed to third place in the latest ATP rankings released on Monday. This came a day after he claimed his record 8th Wimbledon title.
