Roger Federer climbs ATP rankings [See top 20] 2017



Roger Federer climbed to third place in the latest ATP rankings released on Monday.

This came a day after he claimed his record 8th Wimbledon title.

His 19th grand slam win saw Federer jump two places up the rankings, which is still dominated by Britain’s Andy Murray, who was eliminated from Wimbledon in the quarter-finals.

Rafael Nadal, knocked out in the fourth round, holds on to second place.

Veteran news anchor, Jim Vance dies at 75 after long battle with cancer

Jim Vance, one of the first black major news anchors and Washington DC's longest serving local TV host has died at the age of 75 following a long battle with cancer. Station president and general manager, Jackie Bradford in a statement said, 'Jim Vance was not only the soul of NBC4 but of the entire Washington area. His smooth voice, brilliant mind and unforgettable laugh leaves each of us with a tremendous void'. Vance, who won more than a dozen Emmys, was one of the first African-American news anchors to host a show in a major news market in 1972. He became one of former president George H.W. Bush's fishing buddies and a confidante to the city's former mayor, Marion Barry, who died in 2014.

The crisis rocking the Ohanaeze Ndigbo is far from over as the ‎Youth Council has issued a 7-day resignation notice to the publicity secretary of the apex-Igbo socio-cultural organization, Mr. Uche Achi-okpaga. Olu Onagoruwa, former attorney-general, suffered a stroke after his son was brutally killed by the military - Many civil and human rights activist have continues to mourn the demise of Onagoruwa considered as one of them Nigeria’s former attorney-general, Dr Olu Onagoruwa is dead. Onagoruwa, a known human rights activist, was said to have died in the early hours of Friday, July 21 at age 80.
