Chelsea, Real Madrid in advanced negotiations for Morata



Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata, is close to completing a €80million move to Chelsea.

Spanish publication, Marca, reports that both clubs are in “advanced negotiations” over the player’s transfer.

Morata had previously been a target for Manchester United, but the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, saw him travel with Madrid for pre-season training in the US.

Although AC Milan have also shown an interest, the 24-year-old now appears poised to join the Premier League champions.

It is believed the deal will be wrapped up by next week, to end manager Antonio Conte’s search for a top-class striker.

Nigeria: 37 Feared Killed in Fresh Southern Kaduna Crisis

At least 37 people are feared killed and many others seriously injured in fresh crisis that broke out in Kajuru Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna. The latest trouble was said to have started since Sunday when some Fulani youths allegedly went to a village at Ugwan Uka to avenge the killing of their kinsman. Kajuru Local Government is about 50 kilometres from the state capital, Kaduna. The fresh killings show that the efforts by the government at the state and federal levels to check violence have not been effective. The umbrella body of Fulani, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria on Saturday alleged that four of its members were killed by youths from the troubled Southern Kaduna. Lagos builds road to connect Ikorodu with Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The Lagos state government says it has started the construction of the road project that would link the Agric area of Ikorodu to Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Akinwunmi Ambode, the state governor, said this on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting on the road. He said it would cut through the Arepo area of Ogun state, PUNCH reports. Represented by Rotimi Ogunleye, the state commissioner for commerce, industries and cooperatives, the governor said the state has also approved the reconstruction of Igbe/Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu network of roads. He added that the road would be a dual carriageway and would also serve as another link to Sagamu. “The Agric-Isawo-Konu-Arepo Road will have a link bridge that will connect the state to the Ogun State boundary, which will link the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,” Ambode said. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, has said Nigeria is set to supply 130,000 tonnes of roasted cashew nuts to the Walmart Super Market chain in the United States of America. He said the 130,000 cashew is valued at $7 billion. Chief Ogbeh said the US firm came to Nigeria to request for 130,000 tonnes of roasted cashew nuts and their demand is 130,000 tonnes of cashew nuts per annum, with a total value of $7 billion. “We are in conversations with Walmart, the biggest supermarket chain in the US. They came here and asked us to roast cashew nuts for them. “What Nigeria currently does is ship the nuts to Vietnam, which in turn roasts and sell to the US. Heard was found dead in a hotel by the maid service ... according to family sources. Police were called to the hotel for a report of a medical emergency, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
