popular Uyo based catholic priest and radio preacher known as Rev. Fr. Patrick Henry Edet announced his resignation from Catholic church, earlier today.
According to a report shared by Special Assistant on Media to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Aniekeme Finbarr, Fr. Patrick is really happy as he ceases to be a catholic priest in spirit and soul' . Read his post below...
''JUST IN: Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Henry Edet has resigned from the catholic priesthood, quits the Catholic Church. He says he should be addressed as Reverend Patrick Edet. And on a lighter note, he says he can still be called Fr.
"From Today Henceforth, I cease to be a Catholic Priest, in my spirit and in my soul... I forgive those who will criticize me, I live for God...I seek freedom for my soul. As I leave, I leave smiling, I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM FREE".

Veteran news anchor, Jim Vance dies at 75 after long battle with cancer

Jim Vance, one of the first black major news anchors and Washington DC's longest serving local TV host has died at the age of 75 following a long battle with cancer. Station president and general manager, Jackie Bradford in a statement said, 'Jim Vance was not only the soul of NBC4 but of the entire Washington area. His smooth voice, brilliant mind and unforgettable laugh leaves each of us with a tremendous void'. Vance, who won more than a dozen Emmys, was one of the first African-American news anchors to host a show in a major news market in 1972. He became one of former president George H.W. Bush's fishing buddies and a confidante to the city's former mayor, Marion Barry, who died in 2014.

The crisis rocking the Ohanaeze Ndigbo is far from over as the ‎Youth Council has issued a 7-day resignation notice to the publicity secretary of the apex-Igbo socio-cultural organization, Mr. Uche Achi-okpaga. This formed part of the decision taken by the OYC during their meeting on Sunday. In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Engr. Obinna Adibe, they slammed Achi-okpaga for dishing out junk and falsehood to the society.
