According to a report shared by Special Assistant on Media to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Aniekeme Finbarr, Fr. Patrick is really happy as he ceases to be a catholic priest in spirit and soul' . Read his post below...

"From Today Henceforth, I cease to be a Catholic Priest, in my spirit and in my soul... I forgive those who will criticize me, I live for God...I seek freedom for my soul. As I leave, I leave smiling, I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM FREE".

Dino Melaye: APC sues INEC over Senator’s recall

The Kogi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos over the Commission’s insistence on the recall of Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye. The leadership of the party in the state is challenging the recall of Melaye without affording him fair hearing. Plaintiff in the case are, the Chairman of the state arm of the party, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, and other principal officers: Shaibu Osune, S.T. Adejo, Yahaya Ismail, Isah Daniel, Chief Gbenga Asagun, Ahovi Ibrahim, Ghali Usman, Isa Abubakar, I.Molemodile, Abubakar Adamu and Daniel Sekpe. TRAGEDY: 14 people burnt to death as tanker collides with commercial bus

FILE PHOTO: FRSC officials at a scene of an accident No fewer than 14 persons have been reported dead in a ghastly tanker and bus collision in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Sunday. Witnesses say the dead, who were consumed in the inferno, include women and children. The accident was said to have occurred at about 12 noon in front of a fuel station, few metres away from the popular Mayfair roundabout. An 18-seater commercial bus heading from Ondo State to Ibadan collided with a diesel-filled tanker that was negotiating a U-turn on the way, witnesses said. It was learnt that on collision, the bus burst into flames, burning most of the passengers beyond recognition. Witnesses told journalists that the extent of damage resulted from the delayed arrival of rescue teams to the accident spot. Nigerians should expect new data price soon – NCC

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said Nigerians should expect a new data price as soon as an on-going cost-based research is concluded. This was disclosed in Abuja by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Dambatta during a chat with DAILY POST. According to him, the commission had noticed that the level of data usage was growing across the country and there was need for an affordable and acceptable price floor for data. He said this was necessary in order to forestall a price war in the data sub-segment of the telecommunications industry. Dambatta disclosed that the commission was looking at other temporary measures in other to ensure that data services improved. He said: “We have noticed that the level of data usage is growing. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, has said Nigeria is set to supply 130,000 tonnes of roasted cashew nuts to the Walmart Super Market chain in the United States of America. He said the 130,000 cashew is valued at $7 billion. Chief Ogbeh said the US firm came to Nigeria to request for 130,000 tonnes of roasted cashew nuts and their demand is 130,000 tonnes of cashew nuts per annum, with a total value of $7 billion. “We are in conversations with Walmart, the biggest supermarket chain in the US. They came here and asked us to roast cashew nuts for them. “What Nigeria currently does is ship the nuts to Vietnam, which in turn roasts and sell to the US.
